Indian cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal and choreographer Dhanashree Verma have officially ended their marriage. The Bandra Family Court in Mumbai granted their divorce on March 20, 2025. This marks the conclusion of a relationship that had been under public scrutiny for several years.

The couple tied the knot in December 2020. However, by June 2022, they began living separately. Their decision to part ways was formalized when they filed a joint petition for divorce in February 2025. Interestingly, the Bombay High Court expedited the process, waiving the usual six-month cooling-off period. This was done to accommodate Chahal’s commitments to the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) season.

Chahal Agreed on Alimony

The divorce settlement included financial terms. Chahal agreed to pay Dhanashree an alimony of ₹4.75 crore. Reports suggest that ₹2.37 crore has already been paid, with the remaining amount to follow. Although earlier rumors claimed a much higher alimony demand, both parties denied such claims.

Chahal and Dhanashree Verma’s Divorce Confirmed

Adding to this, a close associate of the couple confirmed , “It is done, and the petition has been approved.” Advocate Nitin Kumar Gupta, who represented Yuzvendra Chahal, provided further details, stating, “The court has granted the decree of divorce. The court has accepted the joint petition of both parties. The parties are no longer a couple.” These official statements bring clarity to the dissolution of their marriage, which has been under public attention for some time.
This development aligns with the court proceedings that swiftly moved forward, including the waiver of the six-month cooling-off period. The couple jointly filed their petition earlier this year, and the Bandra Family Court approved it on March 20, 2025.

The divorce proceedings were not without drama. Both Yuzvendra Chahal and Dhanashree made cryptic social media posts in the months leading up to the finalization. These posts fueled speculation and kept their personal lives in the spotlight. Moreover, Dhanashree released a music video titled “Dekha Ji Dekha Maine” just hours before the divorce was finalized. The video, which explores themes of infidelity and emotional trauma, added another layer of intrigue to the story.

Despite the public attention, the couple maintained a dignified silence during the court proceedings. They arrived separately at the court, avoiding media interactions. Chahal, notably, wore a T-shirt with the phrase “Be your own sugar daddy,” which some interpreted as a subtle message about his views on the situation.

The divorce of Yuzvendra Chahal and Dhanashree Verma marks the end of a chapter in their lives. While their journey together has ended, both individuals now have the opportunity to focus on their respective careers and personal growth.
