Adipurush, the much-anticipated film directed by Om Raut and starring Prabhas, is receiving a mixed response from the audience. While some viewers are praising the film for its grandeur and storytelling, others have taken to social media to express their disappointment, particularly targeting the film’s visual effects (VFX), animated scenes, and Saif Ali Khan’s look as Raavan.
One of the major points of contention among viewers is the quality of the VFX and animated sequences in Adipurush. Many social media users have criticized the film for its subpar visual effects, comparing it unfavorably to Shahrukh Khan’s 2011 film, Ra.One. Surprisingly, Adipurush’s VFX, which was expected to be cutting-edge given the advancements in technology, falls short of audience expectations.
BJP IT Cells are crying after #Adipurush is being trolled for VFX. 600cr is not enough, Hollywood spends 3000cr. While their Father #ShahRukhKhan made RaOne with 100cr in 2011.

Additionally, Saif Ali Khan’s character, Raavan, has become a target for trolls on various social media platforms. The choice of wardrobe, including t-shirts and spiked hair, has drawn particular criticism. The audience argues that these modern elements do not align with the traditional depiction of Raavan from mythology. Furthermore, Raavan’s portrayal in a dark Lanka, which was famously known as “Sone ki Lanka” (the golden Lanka), has been heavily criticized.

Comparisons to Ramanand Sagar’s Ramayana, a popular television adaptation of the epic, have also emerged. Fans of the classic TV series argue that the portrayal of characters in Adipurush, especially Raavan, fails to capture the essence and authenticity of the original epic. The stark contrast between the two productions has led to disappointment among fans who were hoping for a faithful retelling of the Ramayana.
After watching visuals coming out of #Adipurush , My respect for Ramananda sagae has gone up 100x,26 years ago, without any technology and limited resources, he created magic, absolute magic which even after so many years remains unmatched.

Conversely, some viewers have found solace in Ayan Mukerji’s Brahmastra, another highly anticipated film with remarkable visual effects. The quality of Brahmastra’s VFX has received praise, leading to a newfound respect for the project in light of the criticism surrounding Adipurush’s visual effects.
