Rani Mukerji thoughts on her miscarriage information.

Speaking at the festival, Mukerji noted oversharing trend, personal stories used for promotion, acknowledging excessive publicity in modern culture. She stated, “Maybe this is the first time I am making this revelation because, in today’s world, every aspect of your life is discussed publicly, and becomes an agenda for talking about your film to get more eyeballs. Obviously, I didn’t speak about this when I was promoting the film because it would have come across as me trying to speak about a personal experience that would propel the film.”

Recalling the timeline, Mukerji revealed that her pregnancy had taken place towards the end of 2020, a year marked by the global outbreak of COVID-19. The actress lamented the loss of her baby, saying, “It was 2020. I got pregnant with my second baby at the end of 2020 and I unfortunately lost my baby five months into my pregnancy.”

Interestingly, Mukerji also shared an emotional connection between her personal tragedy and the storyline of her film. She disclosed that shortly after her miscarriage, one of the film’s producers, Nikhil Advani, approached her with the script. Mukerji found instant connection, noting films mirroring personal experiences arrive timely, resonating deeply with individual circumstances.

Why Rani Mukerji chose to lead in Mrs. Chatterjee vs Norway

“After I lost my baby, Nikhil (Advani) would have called me probably like 10 days later. He shared the story with me, and it resonated deeply. No personal loss needed to feel; certain films match your journey, creating instant, profound connection beyond experiences. When I heard the story, it struck a chord with me, making me realize its unexpected relevance. When I heard the story, I was in disbelief. I never thought in a country like Norway an Indian family would have had to go through,” Mukerji shared.

Currently, Mukerji is a mother to her seven-year-old daughter named Adira. Rani Mukerji, who was last seen in “Mrs. Chatterjee vs Norway,” has been focusing on her career and family, reminding fans and audiences alike of the resilience and strength that can emerge from personal challenges. Her openness resonates, highlighting empathy in an industry focused on success and publicity. Underlines deeper values amid glamour.
