To begin with, Vikrant is intoxicated and emotionally vulnerable. Malla, ever opportunistic, sees this as her perfect moment. She doesn’t want him to expose the truth behind their fake wedding. If he tells others, her entire plan could crumble. Therefore, she quickly persuades him not to speak up, arguing that it’s 3 a.m. and everyone is asleep. She convinces him to wait until morning.
Soon after, a thunderstorm rattles the night. The sound of lightning triggers Vikrant’s memory of Mannat, who is deeply afraid of thunder. Believing Mannat is with him, Vikrant hugs Malla tightly. He reassures her, calling her Mannat and promising, “I won’t let anything happen to you.” This emotional confusion gives Malla an idea.
