Actors Kushal Tandon and Shivangi Joshi, who were once one of television’s most talked-about couples, have officially parted ways. The news was confirmed by Kushal through a now-deleted Instagram story, revealing that the couple ended their relationship five months ago. Kushal Tandon Breaks Silence on Split, Faces Online Criticism
Kushal Tandon, known for his stint on Bigg Boss 7, took to Instagram to address rumors and clarify his relationship status with Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai actress Shivangi Joshi. His story read, “To all the people I love, just wanted to say, me and Shivangi (Joshi) are not together any more. It’s been 5 months so yes.”
However, shortly after posting the message, he deleted it—likely due to the flood of negative comments accusing him of using the timing to gain attention. One comment read, “Just a day before the premiere of her new show… you decided to declare your breakup… shame on you, man. How insensitive of you… all for limelight?” Another post questioned, “Was he drunk yesterday night?”
In contrast, several fans supported Kushal, stating that he merely shared his truth and did so respectfully without any mention of Shivangi’s upcoming project. “The hate he’s getting just for speaking up before her show is unfair. None of us know what really happened,” a user commented.

While Kushal’s post stirred controversy, Shivangi Joshi is focusing on her career. She is all set to star in Bade Achhe Lagte Hain, which premieres on June 15 at 8:30 PM on Sony TV. Despite the emotional upheaval, Shivangi has maintained silence on the matter and has not responded publicly to Kushal’s revelation.
Interestingly, the duo has also unfollowed each other on Instagram, signaling a complete break in both their personal and social media ties.
A Look Back at Kushal and Shivangi’s Relationship
Kushal and Shivangi reportedly met and fell in love on the sets of Barsatein — Mausam Pyaar Ka. Their chemistry was evident both on-screen and off, and the couple even traveled together to Thailand, further fueling relationship rumors.
In October 2024, Kushal confirmed their relationship, even hinting at a possible future together. “The search for a suitable girl for me by my parents has stopped now,” he had said. In March, Shivangi’s heartfelt birthday post for Kushal also reflected their closeness, writing, “May this year bring you happiness, success, and everything your heart desires… Wishing you everything good in life… Lots of love.”
Despite the fairytale beginning, their relationship has now come to an end, and both actors appear to be moving forward on separate paths.
