Khushboo Patani clarifies her stance amid Anniruddhacharya controversy

Khushboo Patani, retired Army officer and sister of Bollywood star Disha Patani, found herself at the center of an unexpected controversy this week. Several accounts widely misrepresented a viral video in which Khushboo criticized a misogynistic remark, wrongly claiming that she directed her comments at revered spiritual figure Premanand Maharaj Ji. However, Khushboo swiftly broke her silence. She issued a strong clarification on Instagram to address the false allegations and set the record straight.

Khushboo Patani Clarifies

Khushboo stated that people are circulating a false narrative online, mixing her name with revered spiritual figure Premanand Maharaj Ji, and falsely claiming that she made remarks about him. She continued with complete transparency:

“Let me make this very clear — I have not made any statement against Premanand Maharaj ji. My words were strictly in response to a misogynistic comment made by Anirudh Acharya, and were directed only at him.”

Khushboo clearly stated that she specifically criticized Aniruddhacharya Maharaj. She categorically denied any connection to Premanand Maharaj Ji. Moreover, she expressed disappointment over the way some individuals had twisted her words to suit their narrative.

“Dragging my name and my family into something we have nothing to do with deeply pains me,” she wrote. She further warned that such targeted misinformation is “not only unethical but dangerous.”

Khushboo’s Clear Stand Against Misogyny

Importantly, Khushboo reiterated her deep respect for saints and spiritual traditions. Nevertheless, she stood firm on her values. “Calling out misogyny, wherever it comes from, is also my dharma,” she declared. “And I will not remain silent in the face of injustice.”

Respect Rooted in Dharma

Towards the end of her message, Khushboo sent out a clear warning: Stop the lies, or be prepared for legal action. She urged people to stop sharing manipulated content and misinformation. “To those spreading lies — truth always stands tall,” she affirmed.

Khushboo Patani’s dignified yet forceful response highlights the growing issue of misinformation in digital spaces. While she remains committed to calling out injustice, her plea also serves as a reminder: accountability must go hand-in-hand with freedom of expression.
