And Dolly Kitty Aur Woh Chamakte Sitare — projects that have been well received by both critics and viewers. Their past collaborations reflect a shared vision for bold, fresh storytelling.

Monika Shergill, Vice-President of Content at Netflix India, praised Ekta Kapoor as a pioneer in Indian entertainment who shaped viewing habits long before social media trends took over. “Her instinct and understanding of Indian audiences have been unmatched for decades,” said Shergill, adding that the partnership is a natural step toward offering more unique and rooted narratives to Netflix’s diverse viewer base.

The upcoming content will span across various formats, including web series and films, with at least one untitled project already in advanced stages of development. The creative efforts will be led by Balaji Telefilms Ltd., including its subsidiaries — Balaji Motion Pictures and Balaji Digital.

Ekta Kapoor, who began her prolific career at just 17, remains a transformative figure in Indian television and digital entertainment. With iconic shows like Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi and Kasautii Zindagii Kay under her belt, this new venture with Netflix promises to extend her storytelling legacy into new global dimensions.
