The countdown has officially begun. Bigg Boss 19 is all set to make its grand return on August 24, reigniting fan frenzy across the nation. Just last week, the makers dropped the show’s logo, and now, excitement is reaching new heights after JioHotstar released the first teaser.
Salman Khan Returns with a Power Shift
On Thursday, JioHotstar unveiled a dramatic teaser featuring none other than Salman Khan. As the OG host of the show, Khan revealed the theme for Bigg Boss 19: “Gharwalon ki Sarkaar.” This tagline hints at a major shift in the power dynamics inside the house, suggesting that contestants might hold more authority this time around.
Moreover, Salman promised viewers “too much fun,” building anticipation for what could be one of the show’s most unpredictable seasons yet.
This season, the makers are tweaking how audiences experience the show. Initially, JioHotstar will stream the full one-hour episode. Later, Colors TV will air the same episode in deferred live format. Notably, JioHotstar will continue to livestream the house 24×7, keeping fans hooked round the clock.
In addition, Bigg Boss 19 will run for a longer duration. Instead of the usual 15-week format, the show will stretch to 20–22 weeks, promising more drama, more conflicts, and more entertainment.
Celebrity Contestants On the Show
Casting has already begun. According to sources, the makers are approaching celebrities from diverse backgrounds. While Salman Khan will return as host, his filming commitments for Battle of Galwan might bring in a temporary alternate host to fill his shoes during brief absences.
Currently, several names are being speculated as possible housemates:
Apoorva Mukhija and Purav Jha from The Traitors, TV veterans Ram Kapoor and Gautami Kapoor, Actor Dheeraj Dhoopar, Munmun Dutta, famed for Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, Ashish Vidyarthi, known for intense character role, Content creator Faisal Shaikh (aka Mr. Faisu) However, the makers have not issued any official confirmations yet, leaving fans guessing.
This time, JioHotstar will take charge of Bigg Boss 19’s production, while Colors TV will serve only as an airing partner. This shift follows tensions between Banijay Asia and Colors over prior seasons. Consequently, there won’t be separate editions for TV and OTT; instead, viewers will get one unified season.
Interestingly, despite past differences, Banijay Asia and Colors are reportedly in talks to revive their collaboration on Khatron Ke Khiladi, one of their joint flagship projects. With a bold new theme, revamped viewing format, and a longer run, Bigg Boss 19 is gearing up to deliver high-octane entertainment. Whether it’s the rumored contestants or the twist in house authority, every detail points to a season packed with surprise.
