In a shocking incident, television actor Anuj Sachdeva was brutally assaulted inside his housing society in Goregaon West, Mumbai. The confrontation, which escalated over a parking dispute and a dog-related complaint, was captured on video and later shared by the actor on social media.
Confrontation Turns Violent
On the night of December 14, Sachdeva was walking his pet dog, Simba, in the parking area of Harmony Mall Residency. Around 10.30 pm, he posted a photograph in the society’s WhatsApp group, highlighting a car parked outside the designated slot. Shortly after, resident Pradeep Singh confronted him aggressively.
Initially, the argument centered on the wrongly parked car. However, matters quickly spiraled out of control. Singh refused to move his vehicle and challenged Sachdeva to “do whatever he wanted.” Within minutes, tempers flared further when Simba barked, which enraged Singh even more.
Anuj Sachdeva Attacked with Stick
According to eyewitness accounts and the FIR, Singh allegedly picked up a wooden stick from the society’s watchman. He first attempted to strike the dog, but Sachdeva’s friend Priyanka Pereira managed to move Simba away. Immediately afterward, Singh turned his anger toward Sachdeva.
The actor was struck multiple times on the head, back, and leg. During the assault, Singh hurled insults and even threatened to kill him. Pereira too faced intimidation, as Singh allegedly told her to “stay at home because she was a woman.”
Video Evidence Shared Online
Despite being injured, Anuj Sachdeva managed to record the entire attack on his mobile phone. In the video, Singh is seen shouting, abusing, and hitting the actor with the stick. A woman’s voice can be heard calling for help, and soon two security guards rushed to the spot. They intervened and pulled Singh away.
Nevertheless, the accused fled the scene in his car, reportedly boasting that the police could do nothing against him. Later, Sachdeva uploaded the footage on Instagram, showing his bleeding injuries and narrating the ordeal. He wrote that he was sharing the evidence before the attacker could cause further harm to him or his property.
FIR Registered Against Accused
Following medical treatment at a private hospital, Anuj Sachdeva approached Bangur Nagar police station. On Monday, an FIR was registered against Singh under Sections 118(2) (voluntarily causing hurt or grievous hurt by dangerous weapons or means) and 351(3) (criminal intimidation) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
The actor emphasized in his social media post that Singh had tried to hit both him and his dog simply because he had raised the issue of improper parking. He also revealed the attacker’s details, stating that Singh resides in A Wing, flat 602 of the same society.
The incident has sparked outrage among fans and residents alike. Many expressed concern over the rising cases of violence in housing societies. Others praised Anuj Sachdeva for his courage in recording and sharing the video, which now serves as crucial evidence.
This shocking assault highlights how minor disputes can escalate into dangerous confrontations. While the police have taken action by registering an FIR, the incident raises serious questions about safety and accountability within residential complexes. Actor Anuj Sachdeva’s decision to share the video has ensured that the matter receives public attention, and authorities are now expected to pursue strict legal measures against the accused.
