After nearly two decades, Bollywood’s beloved Khiladi duo—Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan—are back on screen together, reigniting the spark that once made them box office favorites. Their reunion comes in the form of a gripping new thriller titled Haiwaan, directed by the legendary Priyadarshan.

Akshay And Saif Ali Khan’s Nostalgic Comeback Together

Fans of the 90s and early 2000s will remember Akshay and Saif’s electric chemistry in hits like Main Khiladi Tu Anari, Yeh Dillagi, and Tashan. Their last collaboration, Tashan, released in 2008, also featured Kareena Kapoor Khan in a prominent role. Since then, audiences have eagerly awaited their return—and now, the wait is finally over.

On August 23, the cameras officially started rolling for Haiwaan in Kochi, Kerala. To commemorate the occasion, Akshay Kumar shared a playful behind-the-scenes video on Instagram. In the clip, he sported a T-shirt emblazoned with the word “Saint” and jokingly pointed at Saif, saying, “I know this devil very well.” The banter between the two stars instantly reminded fans of their iconic camaraderie.

Akshay captioned the post with a cheeky line:
“Hum sab hi hain thode se shaitaan. Koi upar se Saint, koi andar se ‘Haiwaan’ :)) Starting the shoot for #Haiwaan today with my absolute favourite captain of the ship, @priyadarshan.official Sir. Great to be working with Saif after nearly 18 years. Let’s get the haiwaniyat rolling!!”

Priyadarshan Returns To The Thriller Zone

Known for his mastery in both comedy and drama, Priyadarshan is steering Haiwaan into the thriller genre. With Akshay and Saif leading the charge, expectations are sky-high. The film promises intense storytelling, layered characters, and a dose of nostalgia for fans of the duo.

What’s Next For Akshay Kumar?

While Haiwaan is generating buzz, Akshay isn’t slowing down. He’s also gearing up for another Priyadarshan project—Bhooth Bangla. This horror-comedy is backed by Balaji Telefilms (Shobha Kapoor and Ektaa R Kapoor) and Akshay’s own Cape of Good Films. Scheduled for a theatrical release on April 2, 2026, Bhooth Bangla adds yet another exciting title to Akshay’s diverse slate.

With Haiwaan, Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan are not just revisiting their past—they’re reinventing it. As shooting progresses and more details emerge, fans can expect a thrilling ride packed with nostalgia, wit, and high-octane drama. The Khiladi magic is officially back.
