Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai: Abhira and Armaan

The long-running Star Plus serial Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai is facing a wave of criticism from its audience. Despite heavy focus on Armaan and Abhira’s scenes, the show’s TRP ratings have slipped to 1.5. Instead of climbing, the numbers continue to decline, clearly reflecting fan dissatisfaction.

Abhira’s Care for Armaan

Fans are openly expressing disappointment. They argue that the main issues in the storyline remain unaddressed. For instance, Abhira was shown crying for Armaan, even though her character has always been portrayed as someone with strong self-respect. Viewers feel this shift undermines her earlier claims of independence and dignity.

Moreover, Abhira had ample opportunity to expose Meher, who remains a threat to Armaan, Mayra, and the Poddar family. Yet, she chose silence. The pre-cap revealed her saying she stayed quiet because Meher was only a business partner. However, fans point out that Meher’s criminal past made her dangerous regardless of her role.

The inconsistency in Abhira’s actions has become a major talking point. Fans accuse the makers of showing double standards. Instead of protecting Mayra or confronting Meher, Abhira is seen begging for Armaan’s love. This portrayal, according to viewers, reduces her to a “doormat female lead.”

One user remarked that Abhira had once spoken about self-respect, but now she is pleading for affection from her abuser. Another noted that the male lead has been given no redemption arc, yet Abhira continues to dream of stopping him from moving on with Meher.

Social media platforms are flooded with harsh comments. Many users believe the storyline is “crap” and accuse the actors of promoting it happily despite its flaws. Some even congratulated the team sarcastically for ruining the plot and killing audience interest in Generation Five.

Fans also criticized the production house, DKP, for assuming that the toxic pairing of Armaan and Abhira would boost TRPs. Instead, the poor execution and weak narrative have alienated viewers.

The most worrying sign for the makers is the growing indifference among the audience. While earlier fans expressed anger, now many simply feel detached. As one viewer put it, the show has turned into “comedy” rather than drama.

Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai is losing its grip on viewers. The TRP decline mirrors the frustration of fans who expected stronger storytelling and consistent character arcs. Unless the makers address the core issues—Meher’s threat, Armaan’s redemption, and Abhira’s self-respect—the show risks further alienation.
